Man, so damn hard to look for a job :(
I dunno why...it's been 'bou a month, and some 60+ resumes, and still no job...NOT EVEN AN INTERVIEW! I don't think I'm that bad as a SW Engineering student; I do have a GPA of ~3.7! So why the heck is it this difficult to look for an entry level engineering position? Outsourcing? I hope not! At least not according to what the local TV news channels are saying: "Another Tech Career Bloom Here in N. California!"
Went to a career fair last Thur. on Biotech jobs - what a waste of time (at least that how I felt last wk). All they were doing were:
1. Tell job seekers 'bou their companies;
2. Q&A b/n job seekers and staff there;
3. Accept resumes; THEN
4. Tell you to go online to look for job openings!
There wasn't even any on-site interview or hiring at all! How thgs have changed in just several years. I remembered going to a c.f. several years ago, and the companies were hiring on the spot and conducting interviews right at their booths. I guess that's the "good old times" now.
For those who stumble onto this blog, and looking to hire some entry/jr level SW Engineers, please drop me a line...
