Hawaii State Farm Fair @ Kualoa Ranch
It looked a lot more fun in the website than it really was. Went there today morning and traffic at 10 am in the area was REALLY bad. Everyone was going there on the 2nd of 2 days (traffic to get out was bad too). There weren't that many activities for older school kids and there weren't that many exhibits either. By the time we parked (took a long time too), walked to the long lineup (took another long time too...too), and paid for admission (extremely quick like 2 seconds, $5/adult and free for the kids), we were ablt to check out EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING, in less than 10 minutes. Ok, lied a little bit; we didn't check out the keiki's bouncy castle playground and the food trucks.
Bought a Maui Gold 🍍 for $2 and that was it. We also tried to watch the 🍀 🐮 competition but it was very obvious to us that the competitors really didn't train for anything (i.e. it was really a show rather than a competition). Before we left, we checked out the Kualoa Ranch's gift shop and concession stand but its food was too 💸 and not attractive enough (🍔🌭 about $8+ and 🍛 about $12+, both are relatively small portion since it's a tourist's trap). We ended our trip at Koko Marina's Fat Boys and Kokonuts 😋
On Saturday we went to Pearlridge again for its Collectors' Show but neither kid bought anything. Keko'a has all the ones he saw that's not 💸 but the one he liked were too expensive; Ma'e Ma'e wanted to get Pokemon cards on special but we believed that those were re-sealed. We then drove to Best Buy literally across the street to get a couple of booster pack - and she got some extremely rare cards (a gold one too, 1 in 2000).
