North Sawyer Camp Trail in Millbrae

Spent MLKJ holiday visiting Sawyer Camp Trail.  We visited it briefly in the San Mateo Crystal Spring Reservoir section (South Sawyer Camp Trail) couple of weeks ago on our way to HMB.  We visited the North Sawyer Camp Trail this time - the Millbrae portion.  It’s a bit more difficult to walk this section because it’s more of a curvy, up/down the hill section, unlike the south portion which was straight and with little elevation.  Thus, Keko’a and Ma’e Ma’e were way behind when we were walking back to our Titan XD in our return trip (going uphill).  The entrance/exit of the Millbrae section is really located at the intersection of Hillcrest and Interstate 280 (exit and on ramp).  Once you’ve walked past the gate, it’s all downhill walk to the water dam.  The dam itself was about 200-300 ft long, but the walk to the dam was about 20-30 minutes (downhill).

We’ve spent less than 1 hour there, just to leant some history lesson (Ohlone used to reside in that region).  We then bought lunch from Cafe Orchard and Cheung Hing (Millbrae).  Speaking of C.H.M, its lunch special was having a promotion - free boba milk tea from TeaEver.  We got 3 cups - Thai, Jasmine & Regular (Taro).  Taro tasted the best because Thai favor wasn’t that strong (we liked strong Thai milk tea), and we tried the Jasmine after we got home - when most of the ice has melted, hence diluting the milk tea.  Ma’e Ma’e drank her Regular (Taro) and we took a few sips in the vehicle.  We also purchase Kentucky Fried Chicken Chicken Sandwiches and they were that good.  We then drove home afterwards to have lunch and ended our trip.  Got home around 1:30 pm.

(Ma’e Ma’e has Martial Arts at 3:00 pm - small tidbits - a student fainted during martial arts class, possibly heat stroke.  I hope it’s heat stroke and nothing else.  It’s been HOT these 2 days - almost or even over 80°F!)
