Last weekend before school starts
So, we brought the kids to Gilroy Gardens and San Francisco Maritime Museum (free on 8/25 thanks to NPA). Frankly, Water Oasis @ GG was a total disappointment (from me)! It's so SMALL, especially on the pool (and the water slides). It looked SO MUCH LARGER in GG's preliminary drawing last year... :(
Hence, the kids were not having a good time at the pool, due to how small it is, and how long they had to wait for their turns. To go into the kiddie pool, they have to wait 20 minutes for every turn - so I had to wait turns for them. However, they were both bored of it in just 2 turns.
SF Maritime Museum wasn't that much better either. For unknown reasons, there were far fewer boats to board when we visited today, compared to last year. Good news was, kids totally forgotten about their visits last year.
Caty's new Transitional Kindergarten teacher isn't the one we hoped. She gets the mean* one. Well, it may turn out to be a great thing for Caty, if you only know her true nature ;>
Both kids passed swimming tests. I'm so glad that I argued with SM Swimming evaluation when they failed Lopy on Level II. I've observed him for 4 weeks and can tell that he's able to do all the requirements at the end. SMS allowed me to enroll him into Lv III - now he knows breast stroke front and back, dolphin, back stroke, free styles...and have been promoted to Lv IV! Caty, well, 4 sessions (2 months) of Super Polliwog...FINALLY!!! Same good news on ice skating too! Lopy now a Beta, and Caty Pre-Alpha! In fact, Caty did so well (yes, that's because she has done 4 months of Beginnings!) that the teacher had asked her to become the class demonstrator to the other kids!
2 more days, and they are back to school.
