Now THAT'S A Bargain - GREATER BARGAIN! (continue from last post)

Well, TRU is now having 70% off on all the green clearance stickers.  I went back to the TRU store and pretty much did a return and repurchase (since TRU doesn't have any price protection or price match) on the JX680...drum roll please...

$24!

YES!

That's a brand new, FujiFilm 16.1 MP with HD video for only $24!  Never mind if the camera can compare to other FujiFilm line up, or even that of Olympus, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Samsung, etc., but @ $24 (and how bad can a 16 MP camera be?), you just can't beat it!!!

Ok ok, that actually isn't the cheapest 16.1 MP camera you can get - TRU also carries the Vivitar brand, and the 16 MP S131 camera (white or red, usually white, only available in very few stores now as it's been on clearance for almost a year...I think it's being discontinued, but I did see it in the 94063 store a week or so previously, no longer available online) was selling for just below $24 at clearance price, plus the 70% off, hence less than $7.5!!!  In the 94403 store, there were many 14.1 MP Vivtar cameras available, with all the discounts, for $9 (the 14.1 MP has the newer packaging, so I think that it's just been on clearance not long ago).  Again, less than $10 for 14.1 or 16.1 MP cameras - buy it for your kids for goodness sake...you know, those Hello Kitty, Barbie, Hot Wheels licensed cameras with, like, 2.1 or 5 MP are selling for $15 or so @ the same TRU store...if your kids like those characters, just get them some stickers!

Here's a note though - and it's the reason why I opted not to buy the Vivtar (because I will be using the camera for both images and videos) - the 16.1 MP does NOT do video from what I remember, and if it does, it would have been not HD video.  That's why it's gonna be gr8 for kids.

Vivitar was once a very prominent brand, especially in Asia (from Japan).  I don't remember exactly, but it was sort of a "sub" brand of Sanyo or Sharp, camera division, back in the 90's, with high quality cameras and photo equipments (lenses, flashes, etc.) from Japan (and made there too!).  It's not the same Vivitar anymore as the current ownership focuses on low price market (similar to what Toby used to be), for the point and shoot cameras division.

For the record, 94403 store has only 1 JX680 remaining (no AX680), whereas 94063 store has 2 AX680 (no JX680 - I got it there, due to the lower tax rate compare to the 94403 store)!
