July 4th weekend @ #BayAreaDiscoveryMuseum!

Oh yeah, fun 4 da kids.

But like what I said several years ago, this museum DOESN'T worth the admission fee ($11) it charges.  There are minimal "activities" that benefit da kids in terms of thinking and imagining, i.e. motivation.  Yes, there are play structures, but so has our neighborhood.  Here're what they have - a aquatic room that learns about waves and tidal forces, plus sea lives, and, well, that's pretty much it.  Another room has Thomas the Tank Engine train tracks, with a fishing boat and "underground" tunnels  (with a fish tank in there) that imitates fisherman's lives.  Not exactly a learning area as there's really nothing to learn.  There's also a exhibition room with early lives of a farmer/rancher (current theme), and kids can play with the exhibits.  However, there are very few interactive stuff as to, why are farmers / ranchers need to did these things then?  Well, I'll give it a pass, so 2 learning activities.  The outside play is really a play structure, and the arts area is a free form play area, just like most daycare providers do with the kids daily.

I'm just getting old...with the grumpiness, I guess :)
