Millbrae Chinese New Year Festival - Sucked!!!
Should have let it canceled in the 1st place. I can tell - from my experience in organizing events - that there weren't enuf funding/sponsors to hold this event. There were just 3-4 mini-stores: Chinese schools, insurance, real estate, and kung-fu schools. Yan Can Cook was really a rip-off - Yan himself kept saying that he's in a hurry to leave (if I remember correctly - that's the 1st thg he said when he started his "cooking demo" event). He even said that he's not here to cook, but to show what "we" can buy from frozen Chinese food which we can make into Chinese New Year plates. No game, no decoration, pretty much nothing! Didn't stay for the parade (we were there pretty much when the festival started; parade's 3.5 hours later) as we'd to leave after 2 hrs. However, we did see the "lion," and that's pretty much gave us the idea that we should leave early (1 lion). Since there's no street event, the streets weren't close to traffic, so we were thinking that the lion parade would probably happen in the parking lot.
Oh well, at least the kids were happy that we went out.
