This year's Shizuoka Show on Gundam stuff UPDATE!!!
By now, the show's pretty much over, if it's not already. 2 words to describe this year's show - big disappointment. Not only is the MG 100th a disappointing Gunpla to be announced - just like when Bandai again announced that Turn-A was the 25th or 30th anniversary Gundam show some years back, there's really not much more on Gundam. Do I sense failure X 2? Turn-A never caught the Gundam world heat last time, and I would say pretty much the same thing this time. There's also NO new toy series or exciting surprise. Yes, lots of Musha Gundam series stuff, but as far as "regular" Gundam - almost nothing! There's also no news on future Gundam series too. How 'bou some new PG such as Nu Gundam or sthg like that?
What would I have wished for 100th MG? MG RX-78-2 Gundam (Gundam Evolve.../Alpha ver.). BTW, in case you haven't noticed, I found that the 2 new MG Gunplas - Z3 and Hi-Nu - were much easier to make than the earlier Gunplas (which isn't really a good thing because not much skill = not much entertainment). I don't believe that my Gunpla skill has inproved THAT dramatically to say that the new MGs are easier to make...but to be honest - less details, smaller (compare to Nu and Z-plus A1/ReGZ with Hi-Nu and Z3 respectively, esp on the Hi-Nu), and the lack of well developed internal skeletons for both MGs...
Oh well, that's it for now...
!!!News Flash!!!
GundamBase has reported that, based on a sales chart from Bandai on HCM-Pro figures of 2006 vs 2007, "SP* Nu Gundam" will come out this August! YAY!!! Finally, sthg to cheer 'bou!!!
